Designer David Raffoul has created a funky new clock inspired by a kangaroo.

The Kangaroo Clock has a cute ‘storage pocket’, which invites users to keep small items in it – it could be handy for keys and notes, while other great suggestions include decorating the clock by keeping flowers in the pouch.

The clock, which has been pictured in its natural wooden state and as painted white, has a really pared-down, simple design, which gives it a very timeless feel that some have described as ‘retro-futuristic’.

Its circular shape lends itself to the curve of the kangaroo pouch as its lines feel organic and natural; two slightly rounded black hands complete the clock.

Raffoul produced the clock for Fabrica, in collaboration with clockmakers Diamantini & Domeniconi.

The designers said: “This clock is a 3 dimensional image of the pocket of a Kangaroo. It requires an action, which is to leave a secret message inside the pocket. The shape of the piece is conceived with an organic method that engages the receiver.”
