How to Decorate with Black

Including black in your interiors is a great way to give your home a contemporary makeover, providing a touch of sophistication.

Decoist has put together a list of fantastic suggestions for using black to make sure that your schemes are bold and dramatic, rather than risky and overwhelming.

The list suggests taking the minimalist route to get the most out of using black and using it to delineate or highlight aspects of the room, such as black trim against neutral walls.

Black and white is always a strong combination, and it is so flexible: for larger rooms, black can have a strong presence, and for smaller spaces, keeping white as a dominant colour but introducing black with ‘hot greys’ is a subtle option.
